What is a remote copywriter?

Remote copywriters may work on-staff for a company or as independent contractors. Their specific tasks vary, depending on the type of organization and industry. But remote copywriters have the same job duties as an in-house copywriter; the only difference is that remote copywriters do not perform their job duties in the office. The primary responsibility of remote copywriters is to develop content that promotes a product or service or provides information to the targeted audience. As a remote copywriter, you conduct research on the relevant topics for a project, strategize how to communicate this goal, and think creatively about the material and audience for the project. Many remote copywriters are also expected to complete their text within specific deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote copywriter?

To thrive as a Remote Copywriter, you need exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, often supported by a degree in English, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and collaboration platforms like Google Workspace or Slack is typically required. Creativity, time management, and strong communication skills help you produce engaging content and work effectively with remote teams. These abilities are crucial for delivering high-quality copy that meets client objectives and deadlines in a distributed work environment.

How does a remote copywriter typically collaborate with clients and team members across different time zones?

Remote copywriters often work with clients and colleagues located in various time zones, which requires effective communication and flexibility. They commonly use digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Trello, or Google Workspace to share drafts, gather feedback, and stay aligned with project timelines. Scheduling regular check-ins and being responsive to messages helps ensure smooth workflow, while clear documentation of revisions and project goals minimizes misunderstandings. Adapting to asynchronous communication and proactively managing deadlines are key to succeeding in this distributed work environment.

Job description

Kai is the AI company rebuilding cybersecurity for the machine-speed era. Founded by second-time founders and trusted by Fortune 500 enterprises, Kai is building a future where security has no categories, no silos, and no human speed bottlenecks. The Kai Agentic AI Platform replaces fragmented, human-limited workflows with agentic AI systems that continuously contextualize, assess, reason, and execute security work at machine speed -making human defenders, superhuman.
Why Kai
  • Well-funded: With $125M raised, we have the capital, runway, and resolve to rebuild cybersecurity from first principles.
  • Proven: We've earned the trust of Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies, and we're just getting started. Their confidence in Kai reflects what we've built: an AI-powered cybersecurity platform that performs at the scale and speed the enterprise demands.
  • Experienced founders: Our founding team consists of second-time entrepreneurs, each with over 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry. Their proven expertise and vision drive our ambitious goals.
  • Frontier AI Applied Research Team: Our researchers operate at the leading edge of agentic AI systems, translating breakthrough capabilities into real-world cybersecurity applications.
  • Generous compensation: We offer highly competitive salaries, equity options, and a supportive work environment. Your contributions will be valued and rewarded as we grow together.

THE ROLE
We're looking for a Social Media & Content Manager to bring the Kai brand to life across digital channels. This is a creative, production-oriented role for someone who knows how to make complex technology feel compelling, moves fast, and takes pride in craft. You'll concept and execute content across video, photography, graphics, and copy, working closely with the broader marketing team to ensure Kai shows up with a consistent, confident voice at every touchpoint. If you're energized by building something from scratch at a company that's redefining an industry, this is your seat.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own Kai's social media presence across LinkedIn and other relevant channels, developing and executing a content calendar that builds brand awareness, drives engagement, and supports pipeline goals.
  • Produce original content across formats - including short-form video, photography, graphics, and written copy - that brings the Kai platform and brand to life for security practitioners and executive audiences.
  • Concept and execute creative campaigns tied to product launches, industry events, and key moments in the security calendar, working closely with the marketing team to ensure every program lands with a consistent, compelling narrative.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • 3+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing, ideally within B2B technology or cybersecurity.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to create polished, on-brand content from concept to publish - this is required for consideration.
  • Hands-on production skills across video, photography, and graphic design.
  • Strong creative instincts and copywriting ability, with an eye for what works on social and the judgment to translate complex technical topics into content that resonates with a professional audience.
