Sr. Project Manager

About PortX

PortX is a leading AI-powered data and integration company for modern banking, bringing systems together and data to life through our unified platform for modern integration, governed customer 360 data, and next-generation payments.

We're in strong growth mode, with new opportunities for Project Managers, working in a high-impact environment, with a culture that's open and rewarding, so it's a great time to join.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from initiation through delivery, including scope definition, planning, budgeting, resource coordination, status reporting, risk management, and escalation.
  • Facilitate project stand-ups and serve as a trusted point of contact for both customers and the PortX technical team.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on customer outcomes, ensuring projects deliver meaningful and measurable value.
  • Engage key stakeholders at the right time, demonstrating responsiveness, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through.
  • Identify and resolve delivery challenges proactively, adapting plans as priorities and requirements evolve.
  • Provide managers and key stakeholders with clear, strategic reporting that highlights progress, risks, context, insights, and opportunities.

Skills and Experience

  • Project management: Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices, with experience delivering complex projects successfully.
  • Agile delivery: Practical experience with Agile methodologies, including facilitating ceremonies and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Technical integration: A solid understanding of system integrations, APIs, and related concepts, enabling you to work effectively with customers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Banking/payments: Experience in banking, credit unions, or payments, ideally involving core banking systems, digital banking, ACH, or ISO 20022.
  • Communication: Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer engagement: A confident, credible customer-facing presence, with the ability to build trust, provide reassurance, and inspire confidence.
  • Organization and ownership: A proactive, self-directed approach, supported by strong planning, prioritization, and time-management skills in a remote working environment.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to assess situations, identify root causes, and drive issues through to resolution.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly organized and dependable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and responsive, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative and solutions-focused, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Calm and confident when managing ambiguity, risk, or competing stakeholder needs.
  • Committed to building productive relationships and delivering excellent customer experiences.

This is a chance to join a fast-growing company at the forefront of AI-powered banking integration and data innovation. You will work in a collaborative, high-impact environment where your technical expertise and customer-facing skills directly influence business growth and customer success.

At this stage, ownership isn't a talking point - it's the job. You'll drive your space end to end, which means your time and availability flex with what the work actually needs, not a fixed clock. If that type of environment is energizing rather than exhausting, you'll thrive here.
