Grace Place Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team, operating in a fully remote capacity. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, documenting their case histories meticulously from initial consultation through the treatment process.
  • Assess clientsโ€™ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to inform diagnosis and treatment strategies.
  • Design and implement personalized intervention plans based on individual, couple, family, or group therapy models, employing best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open communication and healing.
  • Regularly monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, nurses, and social workers, to enhance client care.
  • Proactively follow up with clients, especially those who have been hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care and effective post-discharge support.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers navigating mental health difficulties.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our clients often seek assistance for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will play a crucial role in guiding clients toward improved mental health and overall well-being, making a tangible difference in their lives.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Nevada.
  • A passing score from the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong proficiency in using electronic health record systems, with a preference for familiarity with AVATAR.
  • In-depth understanding of mental health disorders, addiction issues, and other relevant health challenges.
  • Ability to maintain effective communication, both written and verbal, to articulate treatment plans and collaborate with team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and show empathy towards clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in an outpatient or community setting.
  • Familiarity with best practices in psychotherapy and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Experience in working with families and primary caregivers to address mental health concerns comprehensively.
  • Knowledge of the effects of psychotropic medication prescribed by medical professionals.
  • Understanding of local community resources available for mental health support and referral.
