Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager II

DigitalOcean

Seattle, WA • Remote

$150K - $174K/yr

Full-time

Posted 23 days ago

Job description

About DigitalOcean

DigitalOcean is the AI-Native Cloud, purpose-built for inference and agentic workloads. Its five-layer integrated platform, spanning GPU and CPU infrastructure, core cloud, inference, data, and managed agent orchestration, is open throughout with no vendor lock-in, giving builders everything they need to start fast, scale production AI workloads, and improve unit economics. More than 650,000 customers and millions of developers globally trust DigitalOcean to build, ship, and scale their applications.

The Role

As a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager II, you will own the technical go-to-market for your area end to end, driven from two angles: the product (one or more of our AI-Native Cloud products) and the market (a use case, vertical, or segment). You turn deep technical capability into the education, proof, and stories that earn credibility with a technical audience. This is a role for a technical practitioner who is also a natural storyteller: you enjoy building with products just as much as you communicate their value with ease.

Reporting to the Head of Product Marketing, you will partner daily with Product, Engineering, DevRel, Sales, Growth, and Partner teams. You define how DigitalOcean differentiates in a market prone to empty hype by translating architecture into advantage and backing it with real, authentic proof.

What you'll do
  • Architect the technical narrative. Translate complex capabilities like inference economics, serving optimization, and agent orchestration into crisp, outcome-driven narratives grounded in provable value, not benchmark theater. Turn what we built into a sharp point of view: who it is for, what it replaces, and why it matters to them.
  • Build the proof yourself. Develop hands-on demos, sample integrations, and code (Python, JavaScript) that prove the platform to a skeptical, sophisticated developer audience across docs, blogs, keynotes, and launches. You don't wait for an engineer to explain a feature; you test it.
  • Create deeply technical content and take it public. Produce the content that helps our audience understand our products and their value. Match the medium to the message, whether that is a blog, a demo, a diagram, or a livestream, and tailor it for distribution and audience. Represent DigitalOcean on stage at conferences, meetups, and customer events with the depth and presence to hold a technical room. Partner with our executives on their most important third-party appearances: own the decks, prep, and CFP-to-stage shepherding.
  • Orchestrate launches and arm the field. Drive product introductions as a system, sequencing readiness across Product, Engineering, DevRel, and Sales so enablement and proof points land the day the product does. Give Account Executives and Solutions Engineers the talk tracks, demo environments, and battlecards to close high-value AI deals, and measure what worked: adoption, pipeline, deal velocity, and win rates.
  • Read the market in real time. Keep a sharp pulse on AI benchmarks, model shifts, and agentic frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen). Turn competitive signal into positioning the field can use, and bring customer, market, and competitive insight back into product and GTM decisions.
  • Fuel the developer community. Partner with Developer Relations to engage AI builders through technical discussions, open-source explorations, and moments the community wants to show up for.
What we're looking for
  • Technical practitioner. Comfortable in a terminal and an IDE. You can build a basic app integration, script against an API, and spin up a containerized environment yourself. Professional or serious hobbyist software development experience is a must.
  • AI-native. You use AI daily to augment your own work. You track weekly shifts in the AI landscape, from model benchmarks to agentic frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen), and you have a defensible point of view on where the market is going.
  • Public voice. Proven ability to represent complex technical products on stage and in high-visibility content, with credibility in front of engineers, customers, and executives.
  • Proven synthesizer. A track record of turning complex technical concepts into simple, specific, provable narratives that travel across executive, sales, partner, and public audiences.
  • Metrics-fluent. You measure your impact through adoption, pipeline, deal velocity, and win rates, and you communicate it clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Experienced in the stack. At least 5 years marketing developer platforms, APIs, or technical products, or equivalent time in software development or solutions engineering.
Compensation Range:
  • $150,000 - $174,000
