Salesforce Marketing Cloud Solution Architect
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud Solution Architect for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a large-scale, enterprise digital marketing and CRM transformation initiative. This role is ideal for a highly technical, hands-on architect who thrives in fast-paced environments and can design, build, optimize, and troubleshoot complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) solutions in production.
This is not a strategy-only or advisory role. We are seeking a builder-architect with deep Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise who can drive execution, support ongoing platform growth, and help scale sophisticated customer engagement programs across email, SMS, lifecycle marketing, personalization, and automation.
Location: Remote in the US (Denver Area preferred)
Employment Type: Contract (5+ months)
Pay Rate: $50-$68/hr (DOE)
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Architecture & Campaign Enablement
  • Design and implement end-to-end Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions leveraging:
    • Email Studio
    • Journey Builder
    • Automation Studio
    • Content Builder
    • Audience Builder
  • Architect scalable campaign frameworks supporting high-volume lifecycle, triggered, and customer engagement communications.
  • Translate business requirements into practical, scalable Salesforce Marketing Cloud architectures, including:
    • Customer journeys
    • Automations
    • Data extensions
    • Dynamic content
    • Personalization frameworks
  • Serve as the primary Salesforce Marketing Cloud technical expert for campaign execution and platform optimization.
Data, Audience Architecture & Personalization
  • Design and maintain audience segmentation frameworks and data architectures within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Develop and manage:
    • Data Extensions and relational data models
    • Audience qualification and segmentation logic
    • Suppression and exclusion strategies
    • Eligibility and prioritization rules
  • Partner with CRM, analytics, and data engineering teams to integrate customer data from Salesforce and other enterprise platforms.
  • Design advanced personalization solutions utilizing:
    • AMPscript
    • SQL
    • Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS)
    • Rules-based and automated personalization models
Automation & Operational Scale
  • Build, optimize, and maintain sophisticated automation workflows that improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize campaign frameworks, audience models, and data processes.
  • Diagnose and resolve automation failures, journey issues, and data inconsistencies in production environments.
  • Implement best practices that reduce manual effort and improve campaign delivery performance.
Quality, Risk Mitigation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Proactively identify architectural risks and recommend solutions before issues impact live campaigns.
  • Collaborate closely with:
    • Marketing stakeholders
    • CRM teams
    • Data engineering teams
    • Email developers
    • Quality assurance teams
  • Support critical campaign launches, production fixes, and escalations.
  • Develop lightweight documentation, standards, and governance practices that improve technical execution while maintaining delivery speed.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience in a Solution Architect, Lead Developer, or senior technical SFMC role.

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications strongly preferred.
  • Experience creating reusable campaign frameworks, automation templates, and scalable architecture patterns.
