The Waterworks Division is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our team in a fully remote role supporting customers and projects throughout Northern California. While this position is remote, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with our Northern California sales and operations teams to provide estimating support across the region.

This position plays a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for public and private waterworks projects, with a primary focus on pipes, valves, fittings, and related water distribution infrastructure. The role will also support water and wastewater treatment projects, including sewer lift stations, water booster pump stations, tank sites, and small water treatment facilities.

Apply Today!

  • Prepare accurate material take-offs and competitive cost estimates for Waterworks projects, with a primary focus on pipes, valves, fittings, and related distribution systems. Support estimating efforts for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including sewer lift stations, water booster pump stations, tank sites, and small treatment facilities.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate manufacturer and supplier quotations to ensure compliance with project specifications, technical requirements, and current market conditions.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Maintain accurate project records and bid tracking using tools such as Smartsheet to support reporting, deadline management, and estimating workflow.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineering firms, and internal stakeholders to understand project pipelines and support business development efforts.
  • Partner with vendor and manufacturer representatives to obtain competitive pricing, monitor material availability and market trends, and identify value-engineering opportunities.
  • Participate in internal estimating, sales, and project review meetings to develop bid strategies, discuss pricing approaches, and provide market insights.
  • Ensure all estimates and bid submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered within established deadlines.
  • Stay current on Waterworks products, industry standards, and market pricing to support informed estimating decisions and continuous process improvement.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

  • High school diploma or equivalent credential required.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans and perform precise material take-offs.
  • Strong knowledge of waterworks materials, applications, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PDF tools); experience with PlanSwift or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated accountability, integrity, strong work ethic, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, maintaining focus, productivity, and accountability without direct supervision.
  • Internal Candidates on a Performance Improvement Plan or who have a written warning in the last year will not be eligible.
