Job description

Work Flexibility: Remote

Manager, Business Transformation Partner

The Manager, Business Transformation Partner supports the SSS business unit by advancing priority initiatives, connecting BU strategy to enabling functions, and helping the business respond to emerging disruptions that may impact how work gets done. This role operates on the front end of ambiguity by translating business needs, workflow friction, and emerging opportunities into clear problem statements, options, tradeoffs, and coordinated action. The role helps build practical strategies and drive responsible adoption of new ways of working, with AI as the current major disruption and near-term focus area.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

Advance BU Must-Wins and Priority Business Initiatives

  • Conduct discovery through business forums, including EDRs and IDPs, to identify workflow friction, clarify business needs, desired outcomes, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Translate ambiguous or complex needs into clear problem statements, options, tradeoffs, and recommended next steps.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across the BU, division, enterprise, PMO, functional owners, technical teams, and execution teams to align scope, ownership, timelines, expectations, and handoffs.

Connect Strategic Objectives to Enabling Functions

  • Maintain visibility to active and emerging initiatives supporting defined BU priorities.
  • Lead or support an operating rhythm with enabling functions to review priorities, gaps, dependencies, and opportunities to accelerate progress.
  • Connect business leaders and functional teams to the right partners, forums, decision-makers, enterprise resources, and concise leadership decision materials.
  • Experience supporting complex, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment, including stakeholder alignment, facilitation, and leadership communication.

Drive Strategy for Emerging Disruptions

  • Partner with EDT, AI COE, HR, functional leaders, SMEs, and business users to identify AI, automation, or emerging technology opportunities aligned to business priorities.
  • Facilitate discovery and prioritization of use cases based on value, feasibility, risk, readiness, scalability, and workflow impact.
  • Help redesign workflows so approved AI tools and emerging capabilities are embedded into how work gets done through pilots, adoption playbooks, reusable workflow patterns, and practical examples that promote responsible use.

AI and Emerging Technology Orientation

  • Curiosity and early-adoption mindset around topics like AI, automation, digital tools, or emerging technologies.
  • Ability to identify workflow friction and connect it to practical AI-enabled or technology-enabled improvements.
  • Comfort experimenting with approved tools and translating learning into responsible, usable business practices ahead of fully mature operating models or guidance.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • Demonstratable hand-on experience in business transformation, process improvement, project/program management, Lean, Six Sigma, design thinking, change management, AI enablement, or workflow redesign.
  • 8+ years of experience in business transformation, operations, project/program management, process improvement, strategy execution, or cross-functional business support.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous business problems into clear options, actions, decision materials, ownership paths, and measurable progress.

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience in medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial operations, sustainability solutions, or regulated environments.
    • Experience supporting business transformation in a BU, division, or enterprise setting.
    • Exposure to AI enablement, digital transformation, process automation, workflow redesign, change adoption, operating rhythms, portfolio reviews, stakeholder engagement models, or executive decision materials.
    • Master's degree preferred.
