Job description

SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Lead to join our in-house team specializing in apartment interior remodeling. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in renovations, remodeling, or property maintenance who take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. Each day presents unique challenges, requiring the ability to prioritize, multitask, think strategically, take initiative, and adapt to diverse tasks. Whether you have 3-4 years of direct remodeling experience or 5-7 years in property maintenance, this is an excellent opportunity to expand your leadership skills in a stable yet rapidly growing company.
This is a REMOTE role that must ideally reside in Honolulu, HI or the surrounding metroplex.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform hands-on renovation tasks, including demolition, cabinet installation, door hardware replacement, drywall work, and finish carpentry.
  • Install plumbing and electrical fixtures, ensuring all work meets quality and code compliance standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for laborers, sub-contractors, and on-site staff, addressing challenges and ensuring efficient project progress.
  • Conduct quality control checks on completed tasks, ensuring alignment with project plans and company standards.
  • Guide and mentor laborers, providing on-the-job training and ensuring adherence to proper techniques and safety procedures.
  • Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials, conducting monthly equipment checks.
  • Communicate project updates, material needs, and laborer performance feedback to the Construction Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; training or certifications in construction trades are a plus.
  • 3+ years' experience working in interior residential construction or related field.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple sites required.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, construction materials, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to read blueprints, use a tape measure accurately, and perform basic math calculations (including fractions and decimals).
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to make informed decisions on minor issues within company policies.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safe work procedures in all environments.
  • This position requires regular driving to multiple sites. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, have reliable transportation, and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely as part of their job duties. WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves working in a variety of settings, primarily within residential units undergoing renovation. This may include exposure to dust, debris, noise, and varying temperatures. The work may be performed both indoors and occasionally outdoors. Travel between sites is required. Employees will interact with other contractors, property management staff, and potentially residents. Adherence to safety protocols is always essential.

COMPENSATION
Pay may vary by location. The range for this role is $37/hr - $45/hr plus bonus. Pay determinations are made based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to, the relevant market and the skill, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
