The Role:

We are seeking a Senior GCP DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices within Google Cloud Platform. This is a remote position, but candidates must be located in Hawaii. The role will require working later hours, with regular availability until approximately 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with GCP environments, cloud infrastructure, automation, deployments, and production systems. We are open to candidates with different cloud and DevOps backgrounds who can demonstrate strong technical fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform
  • Support the deployment, monitoring, reliability, and performance of cloud-based applications and services
  • Develop and improve infrastructure automation and deployment processes
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Partner with engineering teams to streamline application releases and cloud operations
  • Monitor production environments and assist with troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis
  • Help improve cloud security, access controls, logging, monitoring, and operational standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with distributed technical teams across different locations and time zones

Required Skills:

  • Professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or comparable cloud infrastructure
  • Experience supporting cloud-based applications and production environments
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Understanding of containers and technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience with scripting or automation using Python, Bash, or a similar language
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, networking, security, and access management
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with remote and distributed teams
  • Must be located in Hawaii
  • Must be able to regularly work until approximately 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time

Nice to have:

  • Experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, IAM, or Cloud Monitoring
