Job Summary

Bottom Line Construction is seeking an Estimator to support all preconstruction and estimating activities across the organization. This role plays a critical part in preparing accurate project estimates, managing bid opportunities, performing quantity takeoffs, and helping position the company for continued growth and success.

The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial and structural concrete estimating experience, a deep understanding of preconstruction processes, and the ability to independently manage multiple pursuits while collaborating with project management, business development, and executive leadership teams.

Reports To: Kyle Daigle

Works Closely With: Aric Anderson, Business Development, Project Management, Operations, and Executive Leadership Teams

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Prepare accurate project estimates and bid proposals.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for commercial and structural concrete projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
  • Support all preconstruction activities from project evaluation through bid submission.
  • Develop budgets and cost forecasts to support project planning and decision-making.

Bid Management & Strategy

  • Manage multiple active pursuits simultaneously while meeting bid deadlines.
  • Assist in bid strategy development and competitive positioning.
  • Evaluate project risks, opportunities, and constructability considerations.
  • Support business development efforts through accurate pricing and market analysis.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with project management and operations teams to ensure smooth project transitions.
  • Partner with leadership to support growth initiatives and workload planning.
  • Provide estimating expertise to support operational improvements and company expansion.

Qualifications

Industry Experience

  • Strong commercial concrete estimating experience required.
  • Structural concrete estimating experience required.
  • Proven experience in preconstruction planning and bid management.
  • Experience reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Ability to independently prepare estimates with minimal supervision.

Education & Technical Skills

  • Construction-related experience required.
  • Relevant estimating, construction management, or engineering education preferred.
  • Practical estimating expertise is valued over formal credentials.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
