Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Structural Engineer (PE required) to support and lead structural engineering efforts within a growing in-house AEC practice. This role is responsible for designing and producing stamped structural documents across healthcare, institutional, and commercial projects while supporting multidisciplinary coordination and project delivery from concept through construction.
The ideal candidate will serve as a key technical resource, helping shape structural engineering standards, improve workflows, and ensure high-quality structural design across all projects.
Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Engineering

  • ย Design and produce stamped structural construction documentsย 
  • ย Perform structural analysis, load calculations, and member sizingย 
  • ย Design foundations based on soil, loading, and occupancy conditionsย 
  • ย Select and evaluate structural systems during early design phasesย 
  • ย Coordinate structural integration with architectural design (grid, spacing, heights, systems)ย 
BIM & Coordination

  • ย Coordinate structural scope within Revit/BIM environmentsย 
  • ย Collaborate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and consulting teamsย 
  • ย Resolve structural coordination conflicts during design developmentย 
Construction Support

  • ย Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittalsย 
  • ย Conduct site visits and construction observationsย 
  • ย Coordinate with geotechnical engineers on foundation and soil conditionsย 
  • ย Ensure compliance with codes and construction documentsย 
Standards & Development

  • ย Develop structural standards, details, and templatesย

Business Development Support

Requirements

  • ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineeringย 
  • ย PE License required (Michigan or reciprocity eligible)ย 
  • ย 7+ years of structural engineering experienceย 
  • ย Strong experience in commercial, institutional, or healthcare projectsย 
  • ย Proficiency in Revit and AutoCADย 
  • ย Experience with structural software (RISA, RAM, ETABS or similar)ย 
  • ย Strong understanding of building codes and structural systemsย 
Preferred Qualifications

  • ย SE License preferredย 
  • ย Healthcare and institutional project experienceย 
  • ย Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, light-gauge, and timber systemsย
