For nearly 40 years, ZTR has designed, developed and released products that have a positive environmental impact within the Locomotive Industry. Planning for an environmentally sustainable future means taking action today in preparation for tomorrow.

ZTR is in search of a Regional Account Director that will serve as the key liaison between ZTR and our clients within a specific geographic area. This role will foster strong client relationships, understand their business needs, and ensure the successful delivery of products and/or services.

This position is a remote role, open to anywhere within the United States.


As the Regional Account Director, you will:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new business with the defined region
  • Develop and manage the sales channel budget; including forecasting sales revenue, setting targets, and allocating resources effectively. Monitoring expenses, analyzing ROI, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure financial objectives are met
  • Rapidly understand the prospect’s current business priorities, fleet modernization goals, environmental targets and capacities
  • Deliver compelling value focused demonstrations customized to each influencing stakeholder persona
  • Support key prospects from first call through to broader program implementation and ongoing success
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to drive revenue growth
  • Stay informed about regional market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments
  • Represent ZTR at various focused trade shows
  • Manage contract renewals and negotiations to ensure favorable terms for both parties


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience selling in the rail industry, engineered technology, remote monitoring and customer success services
  • Rail industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated achievement in a goal-driven sales environment
  • Technical aptitude and/or experience selling a technical product
  • Expertise with industrial telematics, condition monitoring, and/or control systems is an asset
  • Familiarity with using the Challenger Model?
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a drive to succeed 
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, self-development and lifelong learning
