Senior Software Engineer

The Chevron IT Foundation Platform Operational Technology - Rich Media / Digital Twin Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong skills in bootstrap, JavaScript, Angular (9) and other front-end technologies. You will be part of a team researching technologies to integrate, process and visualize rich media data including 360 panoramic tours of complex facilities, video streaming integration, computer vision with drone generated data and 3D model visualization to support the creation of digital twins.

Your main function is to gather requirements, modernize operational technology applications, design UI, test and develop web applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop software components to create web applications to be hosted on Azure
  • Consume APIs and manipulate JSON responses
  • Create responsive user interfaces
  • Keep GIT repos
  • Build or adjust CI/CD pipelines to automate test and deployment
  • Provision, manage and scale Azure resources for web applications
  • Research, test and integrate JavaScript libraries

Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert ability to work independently and manage ones time.
  • Previous experience in Agile teams. Able to understand scrum practices and create user stories and tasks in ADO.
  • Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
  • Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
  • Expert knowledge on Angular 9+ framework, JavaScript, REST, React, Bootstrap, OAuth and other front-end technologies.
  • Previous experience or strong interest in rich media applications preferred: Babylon.js, potree.js, Unity, WebGL or similar.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. 6+ years experience required.
