We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our security organization and help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise systems and data.

This role is responsible for engineering and implementing security controls, enhancing defensive capabilities, supporting compliance requirements, and ensuring secure operation of cloud and on premises environments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, hands on experience with modern security tools, and a proactive approach to threat mitigation.

IN THIS ROLE A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security controls aligned with organizational policies and federal standards.
  • Engineer solutions to protect cloud, onpremises, and hybrid environments.
  • Deploy and manage security monitoring technologies, including SIEM, vulnerability scanners, EDR, and identity protections.
  • Support architecture reviews to ensure new technologies and applications meet security requirements.
  • Analyze security events and collaborate with SOC teams to streamline detection and response.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation efforts, partnering with infrastructure and application teams.
  • Develop automation for security processes and control enforcement.
  • Contribute to Zero Trust architecture, access management, and segmentation strategies.
  • Produce clear documentation, including system designs, standards, runbooks, and configuration baselines.
  • Support compliance audits, risk assessments, and control validation efforts.
  • Evaluate new security technologies and make recommendations for adoption.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years' experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of network security, identity management, cloud security, and endpoint protection.
  • Hands on experience with SIEM platforms, vulnerability management tools, and security monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with NIST, CIS, Zero Trust, and other security frameworks.
  • Ability to write technical documentation and communicate security concepts clearly.
  • Experience scripting or automating tasks using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Security certification such as a CISSP or CISA.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Fortigate Firewall, Application scanning, End-point protection
  • Hands-on Experience with AWS Cloud Services of AWS Config, Cloudtrail/Cloudwatch, System Manager, Route53, Cloudfront, and Cloudformation
  • Ability to interpret logged security events
  • Experience with Vulnerability scanning application and ability to interpret results
  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to Help Desk support team
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to identify root cause related to problems

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
