Job Summary

The Full-Stack Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications, eCommerce solutions, and business system integrations across the organization. This role focuses on full-stack development, custom Shopify solutions, and integrations with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and other third-party platforms and APIs.

Working collaboratively with Product, UI/UX, QA, Marketing, and business stakeholders, the Full-Stack Developer translates business and technical requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions. The role participates throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing application support.

The Full-Stack Developer also contributes to technical solution decisions, application performance and reliability improvements, Agile development processes, and the evaluation of third-party solutions versus custom development to support the organization's evolving technology needs.  Interesting?  Here is a little more...

As a Full-Stack Developer you will...

  • Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable full-stack web applications, robust custom Shopify solutions, and integrated Dynamics 365 (D365) backend components.
  • Technical Leadership: Own project lifecycles from concept to deployment, guiding architectural decisions and mentoring junior team members.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, UI/UX designers, QA, Marketing, and business stakeholders to execute the long-term technology roadmap.
  • System Resilience: Ensure high availability, deep observability, and performance optimization across all customer-facing applications.
  • Agile Execution: Participate actively in Agile sprint ceremonies, adhering to strictly defined Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
  • Buy vs. Build Analysis: Evaluate third-party tools, APIs, and Shopify apps against custom development to recommend optimal technical solutions.

You will be setup for success if you have...

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 7+ years of professional web development experience, with at least 3+ years dedicated to enterprise-level Shopify development.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus points if you have...

  • Shopify Ecosystem: Deep expertise in Shopify platform architecture, including Liquid, custom App development (Node.js/Remix), Shopify APIs (GraphQL/REST), and Shopify Functions/Checkout extensibility. Headless commerce experience using React is a strong asset.
  • Frontend Stack: Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, HTML5, and CSS/SASS.
  • Backend & Databases: Strong backend development experience using Node.js, Java, C# or PHP, coupled with NoSQL/SQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
  • Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience architecting and managing infrastructure within AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudFront, Route53) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Tools & Workflows: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, shell scripting, and version control systems like Bitbucket/GitHub.
  • Testing & Quality: Proven track record of implementing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Strategic Problem Solving: Ability to think strategically, problem solve and make quick decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Client-facing experience would be considered an asset.
  • Agile Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment.
