Job description

The Manager, Construction supports the Senior Project Manager of Construction in the execution of environmental construction and facility improvement projects across Crystal Clean locations. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day project activities, coordinating onsite construction efforts, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has hands-on construction project experience and demonstrates strong capabilities in project coordination, scheduling, safety compliance, vendor oversight, and field execution. Remote position in CA, CO and Dallas TX
Essential Functions
  • Promote and enforce Health & Safety as the top priority by adhering to company policies and procedures and supporting site-specific safety plans.
  • Support the execution of construction projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, implementation, and closeout.
  • Coordinate onsite construction activities, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and safety standards.
  • Maintain working knowledge of equipment used in onsite construction projects, including operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating, recommending, and utilizing new equipment; obtain necessary certifications as required.
  • Supervise field personnel and contractors to ensure efficient day-to-day operations, including equipment use, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Support the development of project plans, schedules, cost estimates, and timelines in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Assist with contractor bid reviews, vendor selection, and procurement activities.
  • Coordinate project start-up activities, including resource scheduling, documentation, and permitting requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate updates, risks, and changes to the Senior Project Manager and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing project budgets by tracking costs, identifying variances, and escalating concerns.
  • Help facilitate project handoff to operations teams and ensure proper training and documentation is completed.
  • Address vendor and contractor issues, escalating as needed to Senior Project Manager.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal stakeholders, including operations and sales teams.
  • Travel to project sites as business needs dictate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the technical field (engineering or construction management preferred), or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of relevant construction or project management experience in a related industry.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification required (or ability to obtain)
