Job description

As aย Network Engineer, you will take ownership of complex network configurations, troubleshooting, and optimizations. You'll play a key role in driving infrastructure improvements, leading technical project implementations, and acting as an escalation point for difficult networking issues. Your responsibilities will include automating routine processes, improving monitoring and alerting systems, and contributing to network architecture decisions. You will also mentor junior engineers, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help shape best practices for network reliability and security.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, configuration, and maintenance of Riot's corporate networkย infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues and drive resolution independently.
  • Provide expert recommendations and strategic direction for network evolution.
  • Serve as the final point of escalation for emergent network events.
  • Own and deliver critical networking projects from planning to execution.
  • Act as a key liaison with third-party vendors, influencing technical decisions.
  • Author and maintain RFCs, contributing to network engineering best practices.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation tools for network monitoring and response.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Take full responsibility for On-Call duties, handling major incidents.
Required Qualifications:
  • Deep expertise in configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, LACP, MLAG, EVPN/VXLAN).
  • Strong experience with network security, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and AAA frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of network utilities and monitoring tools (ICMP, Syslog, NetFlow, SNMP, Wireshark).
  • Hands-on experience managing wireless networks and remote access solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of Palo Alto, Juniper, and Arista networking technologies.
  • Strong scripting (Python) and automation (Ansible) expertise.
  • Experience designing and managing AWS networking solutions (route 53)
  • Background in DevOps, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD networking integrations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience, with multiple years in a network engineering role.
