DIRECTOR OF NETWORK IMPLEMENTATION
Department: Operations
Reports To: VP, Operations
Location: Remote
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will manage a high-performing team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex fiber infrastructure projects. Candidates should have hands-on experience managing dense (250+ node) metro fiber networks and/or long haul (>400 mile) fiber networks including management of complex federal, state and local regulatory requirements and acting as a client-facing representative for Vero.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Recruiting, management, and professional development of a high-performing operations team, including project managers and coordinators. You will champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identification, bid management & contract negotiation with environmental, OSP engineering, and OSP construction vendors.
  • Project management of multiple projects including establishing project schedules, maintaining project budgets, running regular project calls.
  • Oversight of environmental, OSP engineering/construction firms, project reporting and rapid resolution of project roadblocks.
  • Act as a primary operational partner for key accounts. You will be responsible for high-stakes client relationships, leading critical project communications, business reviews, and proactive resolution strategies.
  • Validation and approval of vendor invoices.
  • Serve as an escalation point for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a strategic technical lead for OSP operations, ensuring that complex fiber builds-from engineering and permitting to splicing and testing-are executed with process rigor, vendor accountability, and transparent project milestones.
  • Support build cost estimates and delivery timelines for the sales team.
  • Drive operational maturity by designing and refining scalable processes for service delivery lifecycles; identify and eliminate systemic bottlenecks to improve speed-to-revenue.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of operational leadership experience in high-stakes environments, with deep expertise across the full Outside Plant (OSP) infrastructure lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and retain high-performing internal teams; experience managing people managers is highly desired.
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, with extensive experience presenting to external clients and internal leadership.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end project lifecycle, including utility engineering, complex permitting and construction from initial design through final service delivery.
  • Strong planning skills and ability to develop detailed project schedules and manage work activities to ensure timely completion and mitigate project risks
  • Development, management, and demonstrated command and control of large capital budgets
  • Thorough understanding of fiber network cost structure and ability to identify and achieve costs savings
  • Understanding of fiber engineering and documentation standards and principles
  • Strong background in Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Google Maps, Google Earth, Smartsheet

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS degree preferred
  • GIS mapping and data manipulation experience preferred

JOB DETAILS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This role requires occasional travel up to 20% of the time for activities such as out-of-town meetings, training, or outreach activities.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Base pay is paid at an annual salary rate. The range for this position is $135,000 to $155,000 depending on experience.
  • Target annual bonus for this role is 20%.
