Experience Level
Senior Level (5 or more years of advanced Power BI frontend and semantic modeling experience)
Role Overview
The Senior Frontend Power BI Developer leads the visual modernization, semantic model enrichment, and Microsoft Copilot integration for an enterprise-level financial reporting ecosystem. This role focuses on delivering an executive-grade facelift for financial P&L dashboards serving senior leadership, including the CFO, across a large user community. The ideal candidate specializes in advanced visual design using native Power BI components, complex DAX and calculation groups, robust row/object-level security, and seamless Copilot AI enablement.
Key Responsibilities

Executive Dashboarding & UI/UX Modernization
• Redesign and modernize executive-facing financial reporting suites, with a primary focus on core P&L reports and operational dashboards.
• Build clean, highly intuitive user interfaces and report navigation frameworks using standard, native Power BI visuals exclusively.
• Translate complex financial datasets into clear, executive-ready visualizations optimized for senior leadership and corporate decision-makers.
Advanced DAX & Semantic Model Optimization
• Enhance, refactor, and maintain an enterprise-scale semantic model supporting over 400 measures, 50 tables, and multi-table relationships.
• Develop advanced DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and calculation groups to streamline reporting logic and optimize performance.
• Maintain model efficiency, query speed, and visual rendering across more than 30 connected dashboards.
AI & Microsoft Copilot Integration
• Assess, architect, and implement AI and Microsoft Copilot use cases within the Power BI semantic layer.
• Perform semantic model enrichment, synonym mapping, and structured metadata tagging to enable accurate natural language querying via Copilot.
• Design and build innovative AI-assisted reporting workflows tailored to finance stakeholders.
Security, Governance & Administration
• Manage and enforce robust governance standards, including maintaining approximately 70 Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS) roles.
• Ensure data integrity, role-based access compliance, and high availability for an active user base of 250 or more stakeholders.
• Document report designs, data models, DAX measures, and semantic layer architectures.
Required Qualifications
• 5 or more years of dedicated experience developing enterprise-grade frontend Power BI dashboards and semantic models.
• Proven track record designing executive-level financial reporting solutions, such as P&L statements, balance sheets, and executive KPI scorecards.
• Deep expertise in advanced DAX authoring, Power Query transformations, calculation groups, and Tabular Editor.
• Mastery of native Power BI visuals to create responsive UI/UX designs without relying on unapproved third-party visual packs.
• Hands-on experience implementing and optimizing Microsoft Copilot within Power BI, including semantic enrichment and Q&A optimization.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex enterprise semantic models with high measure counts, calculation groups, and extensive table relationships.
• Strong expertise in data security architecture, including large-scale Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS) implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Ability to provide portfolio samples demonstrating advanced visual design and complex frontend Power BI layouts.
• Experience working directly with CFOs, executive leadership, or corporate finance teams during report modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric integration patterns for semantic models and reporting workspaces.
Core Skills & Attributes
• Exceptional UI/UX visual sensibility combined with strong mathematical and financial analytical capabilities.
• Dedicated focus on frontend visual design, executive storytelling, and enterprise semantic modeling.
• Strong communication skills to interact directly with executive stakeholders and gather technical requirements.
• Methodical approach to performance tuning, query optimization, and enterprise access governance.
