We have an outstanding Contract position for a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Washington, DC surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $67.30 - $72.11

 **Candidate must possess an Active Top Secret Security Clearance.**

The Mobile Devices Security SME leads the strategy, implementation, and continuous monitoring of mobile device security within the organization. This role ensures the secure deployment, management, and operation of mobile technologies—such as smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices—across enterprise and mission systems. The SME provides technical guidance on mobile threat protection, encryption, secure communications, mobile device management (MDM), and compliance with federal cybersecurity policies and frameworks.

Job Responsibilities:  
  • Security Strategy & Policy:
  • Develops and implements enterprise-level mobile security strategies and policies that align with organizational goals and federal standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-124, NIST SP 800-53, FIPS).
  • Serves as a key advisor on secure mobile device usage, mobile application vetting, and mobile threat defense.
  • Mobile Device Architecture & Hardening:
  • Designs and validates secure architectures for mobile device deployments, including containerization, encryption, remote wipe, and endpoint protection.
  • Evaluates and configure Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, or MobileIron.
  • Threat Assessment & Risk Mitigation:
  • Analyzes and assess mobile security vulnerabilities, threats, and exploits; lead the response and remediation strategy for mobile-related incidents.
  • Conducts security reviews of mobile applications, OS configurations, Bluetooth/NFC settings, and mobile communications protocols.
  • Compliance & Continuous Monitoring:
  • Ensures mobile deployments adhere to compliance requirements including Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), EO 14028, FedRAMP, RMF, and organizational mobile use policies.
  • Integrates mobile device telemetry and logs into continuous monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, endpoint analytics) for ongoing risk visibility.
  • Awareness, Training & Advisory:
  • Provides training and guidance to ISSOs, system owners, and users on secure mobile device usage and best practices.
  • Participates in cybersecurity governance meetings, contributing mobile-specific expertise to enterprise risk management decisions.
  • Collaboration & Project Leadership:
  • Works with IT, GRC, and Security Engineering teams to support secure mobile access for remote work, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), and sensitive systems.
  • Lead or support mobile security-related projects, including pilots, rollouts, audits, and modernization efforts.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience in mobile security, enterprise security architecture, or a cybersecurity-focused SME role. 
  • Deep understanding of mobile operating systems (iOS, Android), MDM/EMM platforms, and mobile network protocols. 
  • Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and policies (e.g., NIST SP 800-124, 800-53 Rev. 5, EO 14028, FISMA). 
  • Experience with mobile endpoint security, secure communications, and remote device management.

Desired Qualifications: 
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+/CySA+.
  •  Experience supporting federal or highly regulated environments (IC, or civilian agencies).
  •  Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and mobile integration strategies.
  •  Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools for mobile environments.
  •  Working knowledge of supply chain risks and app vetting for mobile platforms.
