Dare to Dream Counseling Services is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and skilled Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in St. Albans, Vermont. Work Environment

This position allows for a primarily remote work setup, though interactions with colleagues and clients will often occur through virtual platforms. Our work hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Counselors will utilize modern telehealth technologies to conduct therapy sessions, fostering an engaging environment for client interactions.

Key Responsibilities

As an LCMHC at Dare to Dream, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough and insightful assessments to understand client needs and create tailored care plans.
  • Providing individual, couple, and family therapy using a variety of therapeutic modalities to meet diverse client needs.
  • Collaborating with clients to set defined therapy goals and milestones, promoting an active and goal-oriented therapeutic process.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all regulatory standards to protect client welfare and privacy.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development through training sessions, workshops, and team meetings aimed at enhancing therapeutic skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse client population, ranging from children and adolescents to adults facing various mental health challenges. Counselors are expected to demonstrate sensitivity and adaptability in their approaches, ensuring culturally competent care that resonates with individuals from various backgrounds and life experiences.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree or higher in Counseling or a related mental health field is required.
  • Possession of a valid and active LCMHC license in the state of Vermont.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients from diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic practices, including CBT, DBT, or similar methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills that foster therapeutic relationships and encourage client engagement.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of experience is required, candidates with experience in specialized areas such as trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, or family systems therapy will be given preference. Familiarity with telehealth practices and tools is a plus, as is experience in developing and implementing treatment plans that drive positive patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
