Position Overview

Allied Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and seasoned Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, remote position designed for licensed professionals passionate about enhancing the mental health and well-being of our diverse clientele. In this pivotal role, you will conduct thorough mental health evaluations, design personalized treatment plans, and facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and thorough preliminary interviews, documenting client history from the first consultation through to discharge.
  • Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health, applying evidence-based practices to inform diagnoses.
  • Develop, implement, and refine intervention and treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage healing and personal growth.
  • Monitor each client's progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with other mental health specialists, physicians, and social workers to enhance intervention strategies and patient care.
  • Follow up with psychiatrists and primary care physicians for patients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Proactively identify barriers to recovery and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges, providing them with tools and resources to enhance their loved ones' recovery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will involve supporting a diverse range of clients facing varying mental health conditions, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related issues, and substance use disorders. The role involves engaging with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, emphasizing an inclusive approach to mental health treatment. You will have the opportunity to create lasting impacts on people’s lives through tailored interventions and empathetic support.

Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Nevada.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong background and previous experience working as a mental health counselor.
  • Familiarity and proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR.
  • Experience in dealing with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
  • Solid understanding of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices in counseling.
  • Deep knowledge of the implications of medications prescribed by healthcare providers and their effects on mental health.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on building rapport with clients.
  • Strong empathetic nature and outstanding interpersonal skills that foster a supportive therapeutic alliance.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a community health setting or collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • Training in specific therapeutic modalities (such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or solution-focused therapy) and practices.
  • Involvement in mental health advocacy or outreach programs.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus.
