Description of Job THE WORK UNIT: This internship is hosted by the Disease Control and Public Heath Response Division and the Office of STI/HIV/VH (OSHV). The Office of STI/HIV/VH (OSHV) leads the public health practice for the control of sexually transmitted infections (STI), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and Viral Hepatitis (VH) in Colorado. The OSHV works to reduce disease transmission and to ensure all people in Colorado access quality and medically accurate STI/HIV/VH related prevention, care and treatment services.

The OSHV fulfills multiple functions to serve the public including: Public health education & health promotion Training for workforce competencies Epidemiologic surveillance of STI/HIV/VH Follow-up and guidance to people newly diagnosed with an STI/HIV to ensure adequate treatment; Referrals & partner notification Access to treatment and care as appropriate Partnerships with local communities across the state to implement comprehensive prevention interventions and Evaluation of the STI/HIV/VH epidemic in CO including the direct prevention & care activities WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Marketing & Communication Specialist Internship This position will participate in the OSHV social media/marketing efforts to support communication with minority youth and all young people ages 12-22 years old in the state. They will assist with tapping into and penetrating existing online youth communities to increase the visibility of educational campaigns promoted by the OSHV. The position will assist with collecting feedback from target audiences to inform future media efforts and campaign themes, as well as channel feedback from focus groups to create educational messages and topics each month.

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the internship, the student will have created at least 5 reels to post throughout the year, highlighting various agencies in rural/remote locations across CO to increase their visibility to youth and young people across CO and improve OSHV's relationships with contracted agencies. By the end of the internship, the student will create a presentation to tell the story of OSHV's Instagram account analytics, summarizing its performance over its lifetime and create a social media strategy for future posting to improve reach, impressions, and interactions. PUBLIC HEALTH CORE COMPETENCIES SKILLS THIS PROJECT DEVELOPS: Analytical/Assessment Communication Cultural Competency Evidence-based Approaches to Public Health Public Health and Health Care Systems Systems Thinking KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 5 advertising reels to highlight rural/remote local public health agencies/CBOs Instagram Analytics presentation Social Media Strategy to outline specifics/guidelines for future content (informed by 3 years of IG analytics Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.

TRANSCRIPTS: You must be using education to qualify, a legible copy of your official or unofficial college transcript(s) or a foreign credential evaluation report must be submitted with your application. Transcripts must show the name of the school and that a degree was conferred. Transcripts from colleges or universities outside of the United States must be assessed for U.S

equivalency by a NACES educational credential evaluation service.
