About The Opportunity

ORBIS is seeking a Commodity Specialist to support strategic sourcing and purchasing activities across assigned commodity categories. This role works closely with suppliers and internal partners to execute sourcing strategies, manage purchasing activity, analyze performance, and support cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early career supply chain or purchasing professional who wants exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cross functional collaboration.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

    • Execute purchasing activities aligned with sourcing strategies, contracts, and demand plans.
    • Support strategic suppliers through forecasting, purchase order creation, order tracking, and invoice discrepancy resolution.
    • Analyze and report key performance metrics related to supplier performance, inventory, payables, and invoice matching.
    • Maintain accurate supplier master data in SAP, including lead times, source lists, and standard costs.
    • Assist plant buyers with issue resolution tied to assigned commodity categories.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly categorylevel reports, including KPIs and supplier scorecards.
    • Participate in crossfunctional meetings to support new materials, costreduction initiatives, and process improvements.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts using A3 problemsolving, root cause analysis, and 5S methodologies.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 0-2 years of relevant experience; internships or related work experience preferred.

Key Skills for Success

    • Foundational knowledge of sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain principles.
    • Strong analytical and reporting skills with comfort working with KPIs and supplier metrics.
    • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools such as A3, RCA, and 5S is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard reporting tools.
    • Collaborative mindset with strong problemsolving abilities.

Work Environment & Travel

    • Officebased role with periodic exposure to manufacturing environments.
    • Up to 10% domestic travel to support business needs; overnight stays may be required.
