Summary: The Commercial Lines Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned accounts. This role works closely with clients and carrier partners to develop insurance strategies that align with each client's risk management goals. The Account Executive prepares and oversees new business submissions, renewal strategies, marketing efforts, coverage analyses, and policy negotiations, collaborating with internal teams and carrier representatives to deliver exceptional service. With a strong focus on client retention and account growth, the Account Executive provides consultative guidance, ensures the timely execution of service plans, and supports the achievement of revenue and retention objectives. They may serve as the lead consultant with responsibility for overall account management and developing plans for the account's direction.
This is a full-time role that offers flexibility through a hybrid work schedule from our So Burlington, VT offic or to work fully remote. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. When working remotely, employees must have access to a confidential, uninterrupted workspace and reliable high-speed internet.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Works with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  • Responsible for accurate information such as updated exposures, driver information, reporting forms, signed endorsements and miscellaneous information to avoid any E&O claims.
  • Maintains a diary (follow-up system) to ensure policies, endorsements and other information is received to align with requests
  • May supervise the daily job activities of the Account Managers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, and clients through regular contact and client visits. Keep clients informed of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Excellent written communication skills - writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively
  • Self-confident to make sound independent decisions
  • Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports
  • Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail, decision making skills and problem resolution.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Typically more than 5 years industry and product line experience.
  • Applied Epic preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  • P&C Insurance License required
  • CIC, CPCU or other P&C designation preferred.

Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
