Position Purpose:


We are seeking a Remote Commercial Plumbing Estimator to prepare material takeoffs, estimates, bids, quotations, and submittals for commercial construction projects throughout the Northeast and beyond. Successful candidates will have experience interpreting plumbing drawings, specifications, and construction documents while supporting contractors, engineers, architects, and project teams. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to complex commercial plumbing projects with a well-established industry leader.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform commercial plumbing take-offs from blueprints, specifications, schedules, and construction drawings.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for plumbing materials, fixtures, valves, pipe, drainage systems, water distribution systems, and related products.
  • Estimate and price commercial new construction, renovation, replacement, retrofit, and design-build projects.
  • Develop quotations, bids, proposals, and project submittals.
  • Review plans and specifications to identify project requirements, material needs, and project scope.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers for pricing, product selection, technical information, and lead times.
  • Support inside and outside commercial sales representatives throughout the bidding and quotation process.
  • Work directly with contractors, engineers, architects, and project managers to answer product and application questions.
  • Maintain project information, customer activity, bid opportunities, and sales pipeline activity within CRM systems.
  • Monitor project status and provide follow-up support as needed.
  • Manage multiple estimates and projects simultaneously while meeting bid deadlines.
  • Provide responsive support to contractors, engineers, project managers, and customers.
  • Ensure all estimates, quotations, and submittals are accurate, complete, and aligned with company objectives.
  • Work effectively in a fully remote environment while collaborating with sales teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in virtual meetings with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation electronically using estimating software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Maintain consistent communication and responsiveness while working remotely.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards for accuracy, quality, customer service, and profitability.

Requirements

Experience & Education: 

  • Plumbing industry experience, technical education, and/or equivalent construction industry experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating, inside sales, purchasing, project coordination, construction, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with commercial contractors, engineers, architects, and construction documents strongly preferred.
  • Experience with commercial construction projects, bid processes, and plan-and-spec work is highly desirable.
Preferred Experience:
  • Commercial Plumbing Estimator experience
  • Plumbing takeoff experience
  • Material takeoffs and quantity surveys
  • Construction estimating software experience
  • Mechanical contracting industry experience
  • Plan-and-spec estimating
  • Design-build construction projects
  • Commercial construction bidding
  • MEP estimating experience preferred
  • Distribution, wholesale plumbing supply, or contractor experience preferred

Technical & Computer Skills: 

  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints, plans, specifications, schedules, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with estimating software, construction bidding platforms, ERP systems, order-entry systems, and CRM platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing products, systems, codes, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with commercial plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, natural gas piping, specialty piping systems, water heaters, fixtures, valves, hangers, and related products preferred.
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite CRM, or similar systems preferred.
  • Ability to analyze specifications, product requirements, and technical submittal documentation
