We operate across major markets throughout the country, delivering large-scale projects built to the standards our clients expect. Our culture is built around accountability and collaboration, and we're continuing to grow our team with people who share that approach.

About the Role: This is a traveling Project Manager position based near our headquarters in Kennesaw, GA, with regular travel to active project sites across our national markets as project needs require. We're looking for someone who combines technical capability with strong communication skills and is comfortable managing work both from our home office and in the field. In this role, you'll manage timelines and budgets while serving as the main point of coordination between our clients, field teams, and project stakeholders. It's a position for someone who communicates clearly, leads effectively, and values both team development and project delivery.

Travel Expectations: This role requires travel to project sites nationwide, with time on-site scaling up or down based on project phase and location. Candidates should be based within a reasonable distance of our Kennesaw, GA office and willing to travel as project demands dictate.

What You Bring:

  • Industry Experience: 4+ years managing projects in commercial construction - experience in commercial drywall and metal framing required.
  • Willingness to Travel: Comfortable with regular travel to project sites across multiple markets and adapting to work in unfamiliar locations.
  • Communication & Relationship Skills: You build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and work well in a team environment with multiple moving parts.
  • Leadership: A track record of leading crews effectively - driving accountability, morale, and results through mentorship.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with project management platforms, estimating tools, scheduling software, and project documentation.
  • Client Focus: You anticipate client needs and consistently deliver work that supports long-term relationships.
  • Adaptability: You adjust quickly when project conditions change and keep your team steady through complex situations.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of commercial drywall projects from preconstruction planning through final close-out.
  • Build and manage detailed project schedules, keeping crews aligned and milestones on track.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying efficiencies without sacrificing quality.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, architects, and subcontractors, providing responsive and professional service.
  • Travel to project sites across our markets to oversee progress firsthand, support field teams, and maintain crew cohesion.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies before issues escalate.
  • Coach and develop project staff.
  • Ensure thorough project documentation and full compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

What's In It For You: Joining United Contractor Services means working in an environment where your contributions are recognized and your career has room to grow. We offer a competitive compensation package, strong benefits, and hands-on involvement with large-scale commercial construction projects across the country.

How to Apply: If commercial drywall construction is your trade, you have a track record of leading high-performing teams, and you're ready for a role that keeps you connected to projects in the field, we'd like to hear from you.
