Job description

Position:

  • 1 LTACH Commercial Collector
  • 1 Outpatient Collector

Location: Remote (Candidates must reside in San Antonio, TX)

Openings: 2

Pay Rate: $24โ€“$26/hour

Hours: Flexible start between 7โ€“9 AM, 8-hour workday

Position Summary:

These roles support full-cycle medical collections and insurance follow-up for long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs) and outpatient services. The ideal candidates will bring deep experience with UB-04s, have a strong understanding of reimbursement processes, and be comfortable working independently within a remote, productivity-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end claims management: follow-up, re-billing, appeals, edits, adjustments, and collections
  • Contact insurance companies, government agencies, physician offices, and patients to resolve outstanding balances
  • Review and address Explanation of Benefit (EOB) denials and remittance advice
  • Process manual and electronic billing
  • Work from templates to submit appeals and track status
  • Analyze claims issues and calculate reimbursement based on contracts and fee schedules
  • Maintain consistent documentation of activity and claim status
  • Handle 18โ€“20 claims per day on average

Must-Have Experience:

  • 2+ years of medical collections
  • Hands-on experience with UB-04 forms
  • Previous work in hospital (IP) or outpatient settings
  • Familiarity with fee schedules and payer reimbursement
  • Knowledge of denial reasons, contractual adjustments, and appeal workflows
  • Comfortable navigating Wellsky and HMS
  • Proficient in basic Excel functions
