Job description

Multi-site Dermatology Group Seeks Cash Posting Specialist Portsmouth, NH

Optima Dermatology is recruiting a Cash Posting Specialist to join our Practice Support Center, based in Portsmouth, NH. Remote and hybrid opportunities available for folks in the following states: FL, IN, MA, ME, NC, NH, OH, PA, VA.

Location: Remote

Position Details:

Reporting directly to the RCM Cash Reconciliation Manager, the Cash Posting Specialist is responsible for processing third-party reimbursement by way of EFT, check or patient portal.  Specialist will need perform various tasks related to posting, reconsiderations and adjustments of all payment types to the billing and collection system.  All job functions are required to be completed with minimal number of errors and are subject to routine quality reviews.    

Responsibilities:

  • Review daily Excel file of all customer payments received from the bank
  • Accurately apply lockbox payments to customer accounts, noting exceptions for later research
  • Communicate with internal accounts receivable staff, including billing and collections
  • Key manual checks received in office
  • Receive payments made electronically, by paper check, and credit card
  • Post payments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Complete daily balancing to batch sheet
  • Other duties assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, or Director

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  Knowledge of business administration or accounting preferred
  • 1-4 years' experience in handling payments and balancing accounts
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner
  • Must have good oral and written skills
  • Collaborative team player; able to work with patients, external parties, and internal departments
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to solve problems, prioritize duties, and follow through with assigned tasks
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment
