Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Job description

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
  • Flexible schedule

Mavrx, LLC provides survey and mapping services to the energy, oil, and gas industry. Founded by veterans of the industry, Mavrx combines deep technical expertise with a level of service that exceeds client expectations, built on a culture where people are valued both for what they contribute and for how they're compensated for it. This is a full-time, hands-on Accounting Manager / Controller role, offering genuine ownership over a fast-growing company's financial infrastructure.
Role Summary
Mavrx is building the financial infrastructure to match a company on track for $7–$10M in revenue this year and 100%+ growth next year. This is not an oversight-only role. We need someone willing to be hands-on and in the trenches: setting up systems personally, doing the bookkeeping work directly when needed, and building the infrastructure from the ground up, while also bringing controller-level judgment on compliance and tax strategy. You'll own this build-out end to end, replacing spreadsheet-based tracking with real systems and controls appropriate for a company at this stage and scale that is also on track for exponential growth.
Responsibilities
Personally select and implement accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite), doing the hands-on work of migrating off Smartsheet-based AP, AR, and expense tracking
  • Own and directly execute the monthly close, AR aging and collections, AP management, and expense oversight processes
  • Establish internal controls and financial reporting processes appropriate for a scaling company
  • Own payroll execution and compliance across all states where Mavrx has employees, including multi-state tax withholding, registration, and reporting requirements
  • Partner with outside tax counsel/CPA on tax strategy, entity structuring, and profit protection
  • Provide clean, reliable financials to support leadership decision-making
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years at Controller or Senior Accounting Manager level
  • Genuinely hands-on, comfortable doing the detailed bookkeeping and systems work yourself, not just directing others to do it
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy, without an existing finance team to lean on
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license strongly preferred
  • Experience building financial infrastructure from a low-maturity starting point; startup or scale-up background a strong plus
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 per year depending on experience
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans
  • Paid sick leave and other leave benefits provided in accordance with applicable law
Work Environment
  • Fully remote, home-office-based position; no in-office or on-site work required
  • Extended computer use and sedentary work
  • Occasional coordination with field personnel and project teams via remote collaboration tools
MAVRX, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. We do not request salary history; compensation is set per the posted range based on experience and qualifications.
