Position: Medicaid Collections Specialist (Hospital Revenue Cycle)

Location: Remote (U.S. Remote; candidates from select states are not eligible)

Pay Range: $23.00 – $26.00 / Per hour

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Position Overview

Addison Group is hiring for our client, a nationally recognized healthcare organization, seeking experienced Medicaid Collections Specialists to join its hospital revenue cycle team. This role focuses on managing complex Medicaid accounts receivable for inpatient rehabilitation facilities, ensuring accurate claim resolution and maximizing reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hospital-based Medicaid collections experience, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to independently resolve challenging claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Medicaid accounts receivable for inpatient rehabilitation facilities
  • Research and resolve high-dollar and aged insurance claims
  • Analyze claim denials and determine the appropriate resolution strategy
  • Review claim edits and reimbursement issues to ensure accurate payment
  • Identify billing discrepancies and submit corrected claims when appropriate
  • Work closely with payers to resolve complex claim issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities
  • Meet daily productivity goals while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Collaborate with leadership during daily team huddles and ongoing process improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hospital-based Medicaid collections experience
  • Experience working with hospital claims (physician billing experience alone is not sufficient)
  • Strong understanding of Medicaid billing and reimbursement processes
  • Ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve complex insurance claims
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Stable work history demonstrating reliability and long-term commitment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) billing and collections
  • Experience using WellSky, Waystar, or similar healthcare revenue cycle systems
  • Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement and claim processing
