What are Remote Collectibles?

Remote Collectibles refers to jobs or businesses where individuals buy, sell, or appraise collectible items—such as trading cards, coins, toys, or memorabilia—while working entirely online or from home. These roles often involve managing digital marketplaces, conducting virtual auctions, researching item values, and interacting with collectors through online platforms. Working remotely in collectibles allows for greater flexibility and access to a global market, making it possible to build a successful business or career without a physical storefront.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Collectibles Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Collectibles Specialist, you need in-depth knowledge of collectibles markets, valuation techniques, and authentication processes, often supported by experience or relevant certifications. Familiarity with online auction platforms, inventory management systems, and digital cataloging tools is typically required. Strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and effective communication are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure accurate appraisals, smooth transactions, and customer trust in a remote environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote collectibles specialists when authenticating items from a distance?

Remote collectibles specialists often encounter challenges in verifying the authenticity and condition of items without physical inspection. Relying on high-resolution photos, detailed descriptions, and video calls can make it harder to identify subtle signs of forgery or restoration. Establishing trust with sellers and using reputable third-party grading or authentication services are critical components of the workflow. Effective communication and strong digital documentation practices help maintain accuracy and credibility in remote evaluations.

Job description

🃏 Outbound Account Manager — Collectibles Industry

Mascot | withmascot.com | Remote | Reports to CEO

About Mascot

Mascot is the fastest and easiest way for collectors, dealers, hobby shops, and consignment sellers to manage and sell their collectibles. With Mascot Direct, sellers can instantly syndicate their inventory — trading cards, TCG/CCG, comics, sealed wax, and more — across 20+ marketplaces including eBay, Whatnot, TikTok Shop, MyCardPost, Shopify, Square, Amazon, Walmart, Facebook Marketplace, and Instagram, all from one platform. When something sells, Mascot auto-delists it everywhere else. No double sales. No chaos. Just results.

We handle the tech and the customer service. Our users just sell.

We\'re looking for a hungry, scrappy, AI-powered outbound Account Manager who lives and breathes trading cards and collectibles — and wants to change the industry from the inside.

The Role

This is a pure hunter position. You will be the tip of the spear in growing Mascot\'s user base by identifying, contacting, and closing collectors, dealers, hobby shops, card show operators, and consignment businesses who are ready to level up their selling operation.

You will be supported by a dedicated 3-person offshore team responsible for list building, email sequencing, and appointment setting — so you can stay focused on what you do best: closing.

You will work directly with and report to the CEO.

What You\'ll Do
  • Own the full outbound sales cycle — from prospecting strategy to closed account
  • Lead and direct your offshore team of 3 to build targeted prospect lists, execute email outreach campaigns, and schedule qualified demo calls on your behalf
  • Run high-volume outbound activity — phone calls, personalized emails, DMs, and LinkedIn outreach to collectors, hobby shops, card dealers, and multi-marketplace sellers
  • Conduct demos and pitch sessions showcasing Mascot Direct\'s multi-marketplace syndication and managed customer service offering
  • Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to write compelling pitch decks, personalized email sequences, and prospecting scripts that actually get responses
  • Identify and target the right seller profiles: hobby shops, LCS owners, consignment businesses, card show dealers, sports card YouTubers/streamers, and heavy eBay/Whatnot sellers
  • Track pipeline, activity, and results in CRM and report directly to the CEO weekly
  • Be the voice of the customer — relay feedback from prospects and new users back to the product team

What We\'re Looking For

You are the right person if:

  • You have genuine passion for trading cards, sports cards, TCG, or the broader collectibles hobby — this is non-negotiable. You need to speak the language.
  • You are junior-to-mid level but have a track record of high-volume outbound activity — you\'ve made the calls, sent the emails, and put in the reps
  • You thrive in a commission-driven, eat-what-you-kill environment — you are motivated by results, not just effort
  • You know how to use AI tools to work smarter — writing pitches, personalizing outreach at scale, and building decks that land
  • You are comfortable managing and directing others — you know how to delegate list building and scheduling tasks to your offshore team and hold them accountable
  • You are a self-starter who doesn\'t need hand-holding — you see a problem, you solve it
  • You want to be part of a mission-driven startup that is genuinely changing how collectibles are bought and sold

Nice to Have
  • Experience selling SaaS, marketplace, or fintech products
  • Familiarity with tools like Apollo.io, Instantly, Smartlead, HubSpot, or similar outbound sales/CRM stacks
  • Active presence in the hobby community (collector, breaker, show attendee, etc.)
  • Experience with eBay, Whatnot, or other collectibles marketplaces as a seller yourself
  • Prior experience managing a small sales support or VA team

Compensation
  • Base salary (commensurate with experience) + aggressive commission structure
  • The more accounts you close and activate, the more you earn — uncapped
  • Early-stage opportunity with room to grow into a sales leadership role as the team scales

Why Mascot?
  • You\'ll be reporting directly to the CEO — your work matters immediately
  • The product sells itself: users who join Mascot see results fast
  • You\'ll have a team behind you from Day 1 to handle the top-of-funnel grind
  • The collectibles industry is exploding — and Mascot is at the center of it
  • You\'re not just selling software; you\'re helping small business owners and collectors actually make more money doing what they love
