Job description

Physician - Cognitive Neurologist - Full Time Academic

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center- Shreveport are currently seeking a Cognitive Specialist to join our outstanding Academic Neurology department and dynamic team. Must be BC/BE and be eligible for a Louisiana license. Leadership opportunities available to qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality clinical care to patients with neurological conditions.

  • Medical student and Neurology resident education, including supervision in clinics, grand rounds, and didactic conferences.

  • Participation in departmental activities and contributing to the growth of the Dementia program.

  • Mentoring and providing clinical expertise to faculty and residents.

  • Large patient volume potential and leadership potential. Louisiana has the 5th highest Alzheimer's mortality rate in the US and North Louisiana has a particularly large burden of disease. Potential to be the expert in the field in this region.

  • Academic Medical department with the largest concentration of Subspecialty Neurologists in the Ark-La-Tex region.
