About the Role

We are looking for a driven, customer-focused Area Sales Manager to own and grow sales within an assigned territory. This role is ideal for a consultative sales professional who enjoys working directly with customers in manufacturing environments and selling technically complex, high-value solutions.

You will represent a portfolio of advanced machine tool solutions, partnering closely with customers to understand their operational challenges and deliver innovative, value-driven outcomes. The role plays a key part in both new business development and long-term customer retention, working cross-functionally with Applications Engineering, Service, and Leadership teams.

What You Will Do

  • Build, manage, and expand strong customer relationships across your territory
  • Drive sales of capital equipment through technical, consultative selling
  • Partner with Applications Engineers to assess customer requirements and recommend solutions
  • Develop, present, and respond to customized proposals
  • Recommend improved machinery, materials, or solutions to enhance customer operations
  • Conduct proactive, high-frequency customer visits (approximately 25 per week)
  • Visit customer facilities to support complex engineering or service-related issues
  • Identify and execute strategic opportunities through disciplined territory planning
  • Submit weekly territory plans, MIS reporting, and expense reports
  • Support equipment demonstrations alongside engineering teams
  • Travel internationally for semi-annual visits to OEM factories (Japan, Germany, Italy, China)
  • Contribute to annual sales planning and achieve or exceed revenue targets
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the business

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university, or
  • Associates degree with 5+ years of B2B sales experience
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-travel, customer-facing role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent experience in machine tools, CNC, or manufacturing environments
  • Background in technical sales supporting complex equipment or engineered solutions

Compensation and Rewards

  • Base Salary: $75,000 + Comission and Bonus Potential 
  • Commission: Uncapped commission tied to individual and territory performance
  • Total Compensation: Competitive earnings potential aligned with results

Work Environment
