Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking qualified Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to support a rapidly growing virtual healthcare organization specializing in preventive care, wellness services, chronic condition management, and patient support programs. In this role, Medical Assistants work closely with providers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, manage clinical documentation, support telehealth workflows, and help deliver a seamless virtual patient experience.

This opportunity is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who are comfortable working in a technology-driven environment, communicating with patients remotely, and supporting clinical operations through electronic health records, patient portals, and digital healthcare platforms.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient care and clinical operations
  • Review, update, and maintain patient medical records and documentation
  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, follow-up care, and laboratory services
  • Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans, medication requests, and care instructions
  • Support documentation, chart review, and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) management
  • Monitor patient communications through phone, email, patient portals, and other secure systems
  • Verify patient information, insurance details, and medical histories
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned
  • Support telehealth workflows, virtual patient care coordination, and remote clinical operations when applicable

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, NHRCMA, CMAC/MAC, or equivalent) required
  • Minimum four (4) year of Medical Assistant experience required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and healthcare documentation
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems and basic computer applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a specialty clinic, primary care, telehealth, hospital, or outpatient setting
  • Experience with patient portals and virtual healthcare platforms
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar software
  • Strong customer service and patient engagement skills
  • Previous remote healthcare support experience
