Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, establish diagnoses, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions using evidence-based tools, including the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate cultural sensitivity and address the unique needs of diverse patient populations, especially those affected by cancer.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including treatment records and reports, utilizing modern electronic health record systems in line with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with patients and their families to co-create treatment goals and strategies to enhance mental health outcomes and facilitate symptom reduction.
• Coordinate care by linking patients to specialized treatment providers and external resources, ensuring a comprehensive support system is in place.
• Mentor and educate interns, volunteers, and other healthcare professionals, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the clinic.
• Participate in peer-review sessions to enhance team collaboration and uphold clinical standards within the department.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily supports individuals and families impacted by cancer, offering therapy that acknowledges the multifaceted emotional and psychological aspects of navigating such a significant health challenge. By utilizing therapeutic modalities that are evidence-based, you will play a crucial role in promoting mental health stability and enhancing the quality of life for this vulnerable population.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current State License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Demonstrated experience in an outpatient mental health setting, preferably with cancer patients or similar populations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with telehealth services and familiarity with virtual counseling tools.
• Expertise in dealing with trauma-informed care and grief counseling.
• Background in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Compensation and Benefits
