Job description

Now Hiring: Quality Assurance Officer

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Officer who will lead SBA quality control efforts for Climate First Bank's SBA Lending Department. In this role, you'll help ensure SBA lending activity is accurate, compliant, well-documented, and aligned with SBA SOP requirements, internal credit policies, and applicable banking regulations from origination through funding, post-closing, and portfolio transition.

What You'll Contribute:

SBA Quality Control & Compliance

  • Perform independent quality control reviews for SBA loan files to verify compliance with SBA SOPs, bank policies, credit approval requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Review loan files for accuracy, eligibility, documentation completeness, guaranty compliance, and adherence to internal lending requirements.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of SBA SOP 50 10 and SBA SOP 50 57, including origination, servicing, documentation, and post-closing expectations.

Risk Identification & Corrective Action

  • Identify documentation deficiencies, compliance exceptions, operational risks, and recurring trends in quality findings.
  • Provide clear recommendations for corrective action and process improvements that reduce repeat issues and strengthen controls.
  • Maintain quality control reporting and exception tracking to support timely resolution of identified issues.

Audit, Examination & Stakeholder Support

  • Support internal and external examinations, regulatory reviews, independent audits, and related information requests.
  • Collaborate with credit analysts, loan officers, closers, borrowers, and other internal stakeholders to resolve documentation, disbursement, and compliance matters.
  • Coordinate effectively across teams to ensure accuracy and compliance from originations to portfolio management.

The Work Environment:
