Summary
You will serve as a Combat Development Director in the Combat Development Directorate of COMNAVSPECWARDEVGRU.

  • You will direct, supervise, manage and coordinate the work of six divisions consisting of approximately 80 military, government service and contractor personnel.
  • You will develop long term strategies and assign actions toward those to the appropriate divisions based on priorities, level of difficulty of the assignment, special skill sets required, and the capacity of the employees within the directorate.
  • You will provide analysis and oversight of the Program Objectives Memorandum (POM), Budget, and Logistics Division POM submissions and represent the command for the POM Integrated Concept Team (ICT) processes.
  • You will develop future years defense program strategies that account for operations priorities and their associated resourcing requirements for review and approval of the Commander.
  • You will direct analysis and provide oversight on the Acquisition Program Division's execution of investment resources, to include their obligations and expenditure status in accordance with established performance metrics.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: theorizing and resolving emergent combat development requirements as well as long range program execution of multiple critical and complex programs; implementing or developing acquisition process to support unconventional programs; developing risk management strategies, identifying and evaluating potential risk and developing and implementing necessary strategies to overcome or minimize it; and interpreting and/or implementing processes and procedures to improve combat development effectiveness.
