As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Christian Family Care & Counseling Services, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments for new clients, identifying their unique needs and developing personalized treatment plans.
• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions employing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists, to provide well-rounded care and referrals as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and current clinical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and quality of care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay informed about the latest research and best practices in mental health.

Your role will primarily involve working with a diverse client population, including individuals, couples, and families who face various mental health challenges. Many clients may be experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship difficulties. As their counselor, you will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their experiences, offering empathetic support and effective coping strategies.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field, ensuring a strong theoretical foundation for practice.
• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of counseling experience, preferably in a clinical setting, demonstrating competence and confidence in client interactions.
• A profound understanding of legal and ethical standards within the counseling profession.

While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, the following areas of specialization are highly preferred:

• Family therapy and couples counseling
• Substance abuse counseling
• Trauma-informed care

Additionally, strong interpersonal and communication skills, a proven ability to establish rapport with diverse client populations, and proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) software are valuable assets for success in this role.
