Job description

1099 Remote Child & Adolescent Therapist
The Role

TimelyCare is seeking independently licensed therapists to provide contracted virtual therapy services to children and adolescents ages 5–17+.

Pediatric and adolescent therapy expands TimelyCare’s digital health services beyond higher education and into K-12 communities. Independent contractors supporting this population provide developmentally appropriate behavioral health care to children and adolescents and involve parents or guardians in care when clinically appropriate.

This is an independent contractor opportunity and does not establish an employment relationship with TimelyCare.
Contracted Services
Independent contractors providing Child & Adolescent Therapy services through TimelyCare may:

  • Provide evidence-based therapy, clinical assessment, diagnosis, case conceptualization, and treatment planning for children and adolescents.

  • Develop individualized care plans based on each client’s developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs and treatment goals.

  • Utilize measurement-based care practices by regularly reviewing validated clinical measures to assess treatment needs, guide care planning, and monitor progress toward established care goals.

  • Use evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, MI, ACT, TF-CBT, PCIT, and other clinically appropriate modalities through engaging and developmentally appropriate virtual sessions.

  • Identify safety concerns, complete safety planning, and provide crisis intervention or escalation when clinically necessary.

  • Coordinate care with parents, guardians, educational professionals, and other appropriate parties when clinically indicated and permitted.

  • Complete timely, accurate, HIPAA-compliant clinical documentation through TimelyCare’s designated electronic health record.

  • Maintain treatment goals and documentation consistent with applicable professional, ethical, regulatory, and clinical standards.

Independent contractors retain responsibility for exercising their independent professional judgment in the delivery of clinical services within the requirements of their licensure, applicable law, contractual obligations, and TimelyCare platform standards.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Active, unrestricted independent clinical licensure as one of the following:

    • Licensed Professional Counselor or equivalent independent counselor license (LPC, LCPC, LMHC)

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

    • Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.; LP/LCP as applicable)

  • Authorization to independently provide clinical services within the applicable state.

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, and active listening skills.

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.

  • Ability to appropriately assess and respond to safety concerns, including crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning.

Associate or provisionally licensed therapists, school psychologists, and school counselors without a clinical therapist license are not eligible for this independent contractor opportunity at this time.

Preferred:

  • Experience providing pediatric or adolescent behavioral health services through telehealth, school-based programs, outpatient mental health, or community mental health settings.

  • Experience or certification in evidence-based pediatric and adolescent treatment modalities such as TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, PCIT, Parent Management Training, or trauma-informed care.

  • Familiarity with family systems and developmentally appropriate clinical interventions.

About the Engagement

  • Remote care: Provide virtual services from an appropriate home or professional office environment that supports privacy and quality care.

  • Contractor autonomy: Independent contractors determine the availability they make available for services, consistent with the terms of their contractor agreement and applicable service requirements.

  • Session structure: Standard therapy appointments are generally scheduled for 55 minutes with remaining time available for documentation.

  • Professional boundaries: Clients do not receive the contractor’s personal phone number or email address through the TimelyCare platform.

Compensation + Contractor Resources

  • Compensation is provided on a per-session basis. Rates are discussed during the selection process and may vary based on education, licensure, licensure breadth, clinical experience, and contracted services.

  • Professional liability coverage is provided for services delivered through TimelyCare, subject to applicable terms and coverage requirements.

  • Partial compensation may be available for qualifying late cancellations and no-shows in accordance with applicable contractor terms.

  • Access to monthly APA/ASWB sponsored CE opportunities may be available.

  • Independent contractors may be eligible to participate in TimelyCare’s provider referral program, subject to program terms.

Please note: You will need valid U.S. work authorization to join us as we are not able to offer sponsorship at this time.

TimelyCare is committed to providing equal opportunity in its contracting and provider-selection practices and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
