Regional Account Chief UW GB - UO07EESr Business Consultant - BB07AE

We're determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals - and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.

Here, you'll be putting your creative insights to work with the underwriting team and leaders, having a seat at the table with key decision makers. And you'll have any number of opportunities for your career to grow in whatever direction you choose.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the gatekeeper of GRP best practices to ensure new guidelines, process and procedures, and related underwriting bulletin articles have been fully vetted.

  • Work closely with GRP Underwriting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and GB Underwriting Best Practices to ensure that GRP's underwriting policies and procedures are reflective of current practices, where deemed to be applicable.

  • Draft, peer review and publish new or revised content for our internal underwriting SharePoint sites and external underwriting manuals.

Training and Education

  • Develop, deliver and maintain internal and client company training curriculum, including robust and pertinent case studies, training agreements, knowledge assessments and course evaluations, focusing primarily on the pricing protocols, risk assessment, financial analysis and other topics unique to Group Life, Disabilityand Supplemental Health.

Quality Management

  • Perform internal quality management reviews for group life and disability, including rate development, policies and procedures, proposal and presale analysis memos, and provide thoughtful insight as to an individual's areas of excellence and opportunity.

  • Perform presale quality management reviews for reinsurance clients that perform their own underwriting as well as other special studies, audits and training reviews to gain insight into GRP or client underwriting practices.

  • Develop and work with others to execute on action plans designed to improve the quality of GRP and client underwriting based on quality management results, such as enhanced best practices, training, revised underwriting authority limits, etc.

Strategic Reserve

  • Act as strategic reserve and underwrite new business quotes, renewals and sold case submissions as requested during periods of high demand or limited capacity on other teams.

Other

  • Lead and/or actively participate in various functional or cross-functional initiatives within GRP or with other areas within Group Benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Group life and disability underwriting skills, preferably with 4 or more years underwriting experience including experience rated size segments.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, including ability to communicate to audiences with varying levels of expertise and job level.

  • Proven analytical abilities with keen attention to detail balanced with the ability to see and make sense of the big picture, make recommendations and propose solutions.

  • Demonstrated organization and prioritization management skills, including project management and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment

  • Highly self-motivated, takes ownership and is able to work independently and with limited direction
