Job description

Chief Product Officer, Cognito Therapeutics, Inc.

Location: Cambridge, MA, or remote USA, Full-time

Company Description

Cognito Therapeutics, Inc. is a venture-backed (Morningside Ventures, FoundersX, IAG, Starbloom) late clinical stage company translating scientific findings from MIT into therapeutic approaches for brain health, including Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. We were awarded a Breakthrough designation by the FDA in December 2020 based upon our feasibility data that showed our therapy's strong safety profile and a notable preservation of cognition and function in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's. We completed enrollment in our pivotal study, HOPE, in June 2025 and expect to release topline data from the trial in summer 2026. We are a fast-moving, highly motivated team of innovators with the ambitious goal of helping millions of patients and caregivers around the world who are impacted by neurodegenerative conditions. With our patented brain stimulation technology, we are committed to developing convenient, safe and effective neuroprotective therapies to improve brain health and well-being for all.

About the Job

The Chief Product Officer will be a key member of Cognito's executive leadership team and will lead the strategy, development, and evolution of the company's product ecosystem, patient experience architecture, and long-term category-building platform.

This role extends beyond traditional product leadership. The CPO will help define how patients, caregivers, physicians, health systems, and society experience and engage with prescribed neuroprotective brain health therapies.

The successful candidate will drive the integration of product strategy, patient experience, scientific adoption, digital engagement, and ecosystem development to support Cognito's vision of establishing a new category in brain health.

The CPO will work closely with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, Technology, Data Science, and Executive Leadership to ensure Cognito's products and experiences deliver meaningful value to patients, providers, and healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Product Strategy

  • Develop and execute Cognito's long-term product vision and roadmap across current and future therapeutic platforms
  • Define the product strategy supporting commercialization, lifecycle management, and future innovation
  • Ensure alignment between clinical evidence, patient needs, healthcare system requirements, and business objectives
  • Lead portfolio prioritization and investment decisions across hardware, software, digital services, and future product extensions
  • Translate emerging scientific insights into scalable product opportunities

Category Creation & Brain Health Leadership

  • Help define the future category of prescribed neuroprotective brain health therapeutics
  • Develop frameworks that support broad understanding and adoption of proactive brain health
  • Partner with Commercial and Medical Affairs leaders to establish category language, positioning, and narrative architecture
  • Support development of patient, caregiver, clinician, and healthcare system engagement strategies
  • Drive initiatives that establish Cognito as a thought leader in brain health innovation

Patient Experience & Engagement

  • Lead the design of best-in-class patient and caregiver experiences across the treatment journey
  • Develop consumer-grade engagement experiences that drive adoption, adherence, satisfaction, and long-term participation
  • Ensure patient-centric design principles are embedded throughout product development
  • Partner with Patient Experience, Clinical, and Commercial teams to continuously improve the user journey
  • Utilize patient insights and behavioral data to optimize product experience and outcomes

Scientific Adoption & Product Integration

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Scientific Communications to ensure product strategy supports physician adoption and scientific trust
  • Incorporate clinician feedback, evidence generation, and real-world insights into product evolution
  • Support development of tools and experiences that facilitate physician education and engagement
  • Ensure products effectively communicate and reinforce clinical value and scientific credibility

Digital Health, Data & Innovation

  • Lead strategy for digital product experiences, connected technologies, data platforms, and patient engagement solutions
  • Partner with engineering and data science teams to leverage analytics, AI, and real-world evidence capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to enhance product value through data-driven insights and personalized experiences
  • Drive innovation initiatives that expand Cognito's long-term platform opportunities

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team
  • Build and lead a high-performing product organization as the company scales
  • Establish processes, operating models, and governance structures that support innovation and execution
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, customer-centricity, and scientific excellence
