Job description

Role Summary
As Senior Director, People Business Partner, you will serve as the primary strategic people advisor to HubSpot's Chief Customer Officer, partnering with one of our most influential executive leaders to shape the future of our global Customer organization.
This is an opportunity to influence the business at the highest level, guiding executive decision-making on organizational strategy, leadership, talent, and transformation. You'll lead a small team of senior People Business Partners who support VP+ leaders across the organization, helping build the leadership capability and organizational effectiveness needed to power HubSpot's next phase of growth.
Success in this role requires exceptional business judgment, deep commercial acumen, and the ability to translate people strategy into measurable business outcomes.
What You'll Do
  • Partner directly with HubSpot's Chief Customer Officer as a trusted advisor, shaping organizational strategy, leadership effectiveness, and business performance across the Customer organization.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of senior People Business Partners, enabling them to deliver exceptional partnership to VP+ leaders across the Customer organization.
  • Anticipate organizational risks and opportunities, bringing informed recommendations, strong judgment, and a clear point of view before challenges emerge.
  • Drive the Customer organization's transformation agenda, shaping leadership, organizational design, and talent decisions that enable the business to scale and evolve.
  • Influence senior leaders through trusted counsel, balancing support with constructive challenge to improve decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Own the organization's most critical people priorities from strategy through execution, aligning cross-functional partners to deliver measurable impact.
  • Use business insight, organizational data, and commercial acumen to connect people strategy directly to business outcomes.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience partnering with a Chief Customer Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, or equivalent executive within a high-growth technology company.
  • Deep expertise supporting complex global Sales, Customer, or Go-to-Market organizations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect organizational decisions directly to business performance.
  • Proven experience leading executive coaching, organizational design, succession planning, and enterprise transformation.
  • Experience building and developing senior People Business Partner teams or other experienced HR leaders.
  • Exceptional executive presence, sound judgment, and the confidence to influence senior leaders through trusted relationships and informed perspectives.
  • A track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives through influence, ownership, and operational excellence.
  • Thrives in high-change, fast-moving environments; adapts quickly as priorities shift, maintains momentum through ambiguity, and pivots fluidly between strategy and hands-on execution.
  • Navigates complexity with a clear head, ruthlessly prioritising focus areas and driving clarity for executive partners when the path forward is uncertain.
  • Brings a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and organizational sensitivity as a matter of course.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience supporting globally distributed organizations across multiple regions.
  • Experience scaling organizations through significant growth or business transformation.
Where You'll Work
  • Location: United States, Eastern timezone preferred
  • Work Style: Remote, Hybrid or Office-based (US Eastern timezone preferred)
  • Travel: 25-30% travel expected to support executive leadership meetings, team collaboration, and on-site presence with the Customer organization.
