General Notes

OnRamps prepares students and teachers for success in the classroom and beyond. We build partnerships across K12 and higher education to raise the bar on dynamic experiences that advance student success while lowering barriers to access and opportunity.

Purpose

This position supports the OnRamps Chemistry (CH 301 & CH 302) courses. Graders work in close collaboration with the OnRamps Lab Team, Chemistry Team, and mentor graders to assist with timely grading and feedback of student assessments. They may also be required to complete tasks related to the OnRamps Chemistry course content or assets and to provide just-in-time assistance with seasonal and urgent projects.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains accuracy and consistency while grading course assignments and assessments in Canvas Learning Management System.

  • Attends calibration meetings and participate in training to align feedback and deepen transferrable skills.

  • Assists with seasonal and urgent projects that align to the OnRamps mission

Required Qualifications
  • Current undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Chemistry or related field.

  • Must have taken and earned credit for an Introductory Chemistry Lecture course and an Introductory Lab course, such as FRI or CH 204.

  • Intermediate computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Equation Editor Experience with Canvas LMS.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in and knowledge of local, state, and national dual-enrollment and college-readiness initiatives.

  • Expert computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Equation editor. Experience with Smartsheet.

Salary

$12.00 - $14.50 hourly
