As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Carilion Therapeutic Clinic, your daily tasks will include:

• Conducting individual therapy sessions utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities, focusing primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices.
• Developing personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and goals of clients.
• Documenting session notes and client progress meticulously to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Participating in regular team meetings to share insights and collaborate with fellow therapists, enhancing your own practice and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Engaging in professional development opportunities offered by the organization to further enhance your skills and therapeutic techniques.

Your work will primarily focus on adults seeking help for various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. You will engage with a diverse clientele, providing tailored therapy that addresses their unique circumstances and promotes their mental resilience.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A master’s level degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling from an accredited institution.
• An active license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
• A minimum of two years of experience providing psychotherapy to adult clients in a clinical setting.
• Proven expertise in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based methodologies.
• Strong writing skills for accurate documentation and client record-keeping.
• A clean disciplinary record, free from any actions against your professional license.

We value additional skills and experiences that enhance the client experience, such as:

• Familiarity with various telehealth platforms and technology used for remote counseling.
• Additional training or certifications in specialized therapeutic techniques or approaches.
