Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand patients’ backgrounds and identify the most effective treatment strategies.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery and resilience-building, regularly evaluating progress and modifying plans as necessary.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide therapy sessions.
• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on processing trauma and developing effective coping skills.
• Work in close collaboration with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care and support to patients.
• Respond to crises by providing immediate support and interventions during traumatic events or emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma-related responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation in alignment with ethical and legal standards, ensuring all patient information is secure.
• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance collaborative care and share insights on trauma-informed treatment practices.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by staying current with the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy.

Your work will primarily focus on individuals affected by various forms of trauma, each requiring personalized care and attention. This includes clients dealing with PTSD, complex trauma from prolonged exposure to distressing situations, and dissociative disorders. You will be instrumental in helping them navigate their emotions, rebuild their lives, and foster resilience through personalized therapeutic approaches.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid professional licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
• A strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, exhibiting a compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental demeanor.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting focusing on trauma-informed care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions and adapting techniques to fit individual client needs.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively and familiarity with teletherapy tools and platforms.
