Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting individual counseling sessions via video conferencing, ensuring a safe and welcoming virtual environment for clients.
• Utilizing evidence-based, solution-driven treatment modalities to address client needs and goals.
• Developing personalized treatment plans, taking into account the specific concerns of each client to enhance their emotional and psychological well-being.
• Facilitating client exploration of their thoughts, feelings, and relationships to foster deeper self-awareness.
• Monitoring client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting approaches and techniques as necessary to promote positive change.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with stable, low-acuity adults presenting a variety of mental health concerns. This population may include individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, mild depression, and other manageable mental health challenges. Your role is essential in helping these clients develop the skills and resilience needed to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• A valid and fully independent license to practice, such as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• No limited or provisional licenses; candidates must have no disciplinary actions on their record.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, accompanied by a nurturing demeanor to effectively support clients in their journey toward mental wellness.
• Strong computer literacy for efficient use of teletherapy platforms and documentation systems.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are considered beneficial:

• Previous experience providing remote counseling services, familiarizing you with the digital therapeutic landscape.
• Experience working in a community health setting or with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques.
