Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our pioneering telehealth team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work remotely while providing essential mental health services to clients recovering from trauma. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a passion for supporting the healing journey of individuals facing challenges such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' psychological well-being and develop appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Create and implement personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience, utilizing tools such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in processing their trauma, developing effective coping mechanisms, and fostering emotional healing.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, maintaining a calm and reassuring presence.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma-related responses, therapeutic options, and community resources available to support their recovery.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings, contributing to discussions aimed at enhancing our trauma-informed care strategies.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in trauma therapy through continuous education and professional development activities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will help facilitate their healing journey in a supportive and empathetic atmosphere. By employing trauma-informed care approaches, you will play a crucial role in reconstructing their sense of safety and well-being.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
  • A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders, recovery modalities, and resilience-building techniques.
  • Experience utilizing trauma-focused therapies and interventions with diverse client populations.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client interactions.
