Job description

Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

Job Duties: Develop and maintain end-to-end web applications using Angular (TypeScript) for frontend and ASP.NET Core (C#) for backend services, applying advanced knowledge of componentbased design and API-driven architecture. Work is performed with minimal supervision after gathering business requirements and aligning with architectural guidelines. Design and implement RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API to support communication between internal systems and external services. Utilize Postman and Swagger to validate data contracts and ensure seamless integration. APIs are developed with high attention to performance, security, and reusability. Create and optimize relational database objects in Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, views, indexes, and complex queries. Apply strong SQL tuning skills to improve system performance. Perform all design and development independently with peer consultation during code reviews. Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter, responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading business-critical data into reporting and transactional databases. Troubleshoot mapping errors, data mismatches, and performance lags with high technical proficiency. Deploy applications to cloud environments using Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). Configure and manage deployment pipelines via Bamboo, handle environment variables and secrets, and validate deployments across DEV, QA, and PROD with limited oversight. Monitor scheduled jobs using Control-M, review execution logs, diagnose failures, and resolve issues affecting application stability and data delivery. Act as a primary contact for job-related incident handling and troubleshooting. Write automated test scripts using Playwright and xUnit to validate frontend and backend components. Apply testdriven and behavior-driven development practices to ensure functionality, regression coverage, and user experience across multiple browsers and devices. Analyze application behavior using Splunk, proactively identify production issues, performance bottlenecks, and data anomalies. Design and implement monitoring dashboards and alerts in collaboration with DevOps teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, product owners, and UI/UX designers, to deliver features that meet business and user requirements. Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, retrospectives) and provide effort estimates and progress updates. Contribute to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) by maintaining and improving build pipelines, managing code repositories in Bitbucket, and performing code merges, conflict resolution, and tagging. Mentor junior developers, offering guidance in debugging, writing maintainable code, and understanding team workflows. Conduct peer code reviews, share best practices, and assist with onboarding new team members. Take initiative in improving team processes, recommending new tools, libraries, or architectural patterns that enhance development speed, code quality, or operational reliability. Frequently lead by example in applying these improvements. Support production applications, triaging issues, reviewing logs, and implementing hot fixes as needed. Maintain service uptime and data integrity across business-critical systems.
