About the Role
JourneyTeam is in a period of continued growth and evolution as our ERP practice expands its impact across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations, AI-enabled delivery, scalable consulting models, and long-term customer success. This momentum requires a Practice Director who can lead the practice with both strategic vision and hands-on operational discipline, ensuring our team continues to deliver excellent solutions while staying grounded in JourneyTeam's values.
This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who can balance practice strategy, people leadership, customer relationships, delivery excellence, and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the strategy, growth, delivery quality, forecasting, financial performance, and overall success of the Business Central practice, including accountability for revenue, gross margin, customer outcomes, and team health.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Business Central team, including consultants, developers, project managers, and solution leaders, while fostering accountability, employee engagement, retention, and continuous growth.
  • Drive the operational success of the ERP practice across utilization and CER goals, planned customer work, NPS, CSAT, Customer Impact, JourneyTeam's Proven Process, and overall customer outcomes.
  • Partner with executive leadership, sales, project management, and cross-functional practices to align ERP offerings, strategic positioning, customer needs, revenue goals, and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their business challenges, guiding solution direction, and ensuring Business Central implementations create measurable impact, high customer satisfaction, and referenceable customer relationships.
  • Oversee delivery standards, project health, resource planning, utilization, customer engagement, execution of JourneyTeam's Proven Process, and practice profitability.
  • Champion best practices across implementation methodology, documentation, change management, user adoption, and long-term support.
  • Drive collaboration across all JourneyTeam practices to deliver comprehensive Microsoft solutions.
  • Support pre-sales efforts, solution scoping, project estimates, customer demos, and proposal development for Business Central opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Microsoft, customers, and internal stakeholders to strengthen JourneyTeam's market position and customer outcomes.
  • Lead with a caring mindset, strong communication, ownership, accountability, a customer-first mentality, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves while developing people and delivering exceptional customer impact.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in practice leadership, ERP consulting, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and solution delivery (or a combination of 10 years in across those areas).
  • Deep working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including implementation methodology, solution design, delivery best practices, customer adoption, and long-term support.
  • Strong understanding of the broader Microsoft stack, with the ability to collaborate across ERP, Customer Experience, Data, BI, AI, Security and Compliance solutions.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing consultants, developers, project managers, and solution leaders in a high-performing professional services or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence through planning, forecasting, resource management, delivery excellence, customer engagement, profitability, and gross margin performance.
  • Experience partnering with sales, executive leadership, project management, and cross-functional practice leaders to align Business Central offerings with customer needs, revenue goals, and delivery capacity.
  • Strong customer-facing presence, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor, understand complex business challenges, guide solution direction, and build long-term customer confidence.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales efforts, including discovery, solution scoping, project estimation, customer demos, proposal development, and executive-level customer conversations.
  • Experience building scalable consulting processes, documentation standards, implementation playbooks, change management practices, and customer success frameworks.
  • Ability to balance strategic practice growth with hands-on delivery oversight, people leadership, customer partnership, accountability for business metrics, and day-to-day operational execution.
  • Strong communication, executive presence, and interpersonal effectiveness, with the ability to build trust across customers, Microsoft, internal leadership, and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated alignment with JourneyTeam values.

Compensation:
$170,000 - $220,000 salary, plus eligibility for a Practice Director-specific profit share plan.
